Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARVON JOSEPH (SHORTY) NIELSEN Arvon Joseph (Shorty) Nielsen was taken by cancer August 26, 2004. He was born January 4, 1932 in Lethbridge, AB and married Eileen Bachalo of Portage La Prairie in 1956. They have three daughters, Brenda (Christensen), Linda (Beaumont), Liana (Rudolph) and eight grandchildren. Arvon served with the R.C.M.P. for 29 years, stationed around Manitoba, and then was Chief Sheriff for the province until his retirement in 1996. Funeral service to be held Wednesday, September 1 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park", Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Interment Thursday, September 2 at R.C.M.P.
